NAPA Membership Consolidates The Genuine Parts Co. has reached a deal to acquire NAPA Hawaii (Honolulu) from the Schuman Carriage Co. Such a deal would reduce the number of NAPA members from three to two, leaving only Atlanta-based GPC (which would then own NAPA Hawaii) and Quaker City Motor Parts. Specific details of the proposed transaction were not made available; however, it is known that the deal calls for GPC to purchase for cash substantially all of the assets of NAPA Hawaii. Consummation of the agreement is contingent upon compliance with the terms of the deal and any applicable regulatory requirements. NAPA Hawaii is a long-standing NAPA distributor with annual sales of roughly $35 million. It serves more than 30 independently owned NAPA Auto Parts stores and four company-owned stores throughout the Hawaiian Islands and Samoa.
